You know you've been caught in a monsoon when:

Regardless of any rain gear you have on, you are still completely soaked through.

Your jeans glisten.

You start channeling Gene Kelly and dance in the rain.

Streets morph into rivers before your eyes.

You have to shout over the sound of the rain.

The floor of your 3rd floor hotel room becomes flooded.

Street signs are boating hazards.

You just keep wearing the same wet clothes each day because, what is the point?

While having a nice dinner out, the restaurant proprietor suggest that, "You leave now" because you might actually not make it back to your hotel without having to swim there if you don't leave immediately.
