The main event where we were in Namibia, without a doubt, were the sand dunes. We got up at an un-Goldly hour to see them bathed in the morning light, which, we had been told, was the best time. We were promised an unbelievable sight, and by all accounts, that was delivered. I can honestly say, that this morning in Namibia was my favorite part of the whole trip to Africa. I could have done this trip out into the desert, this sea of RED, over and over and over again. A highlight of the morning was climbing "dune 45." Climbing up this "small" dune gave you a great sense of scale. My father likened the experience to walking in the desert from Star Wars - you kind of expect C3PO at any time. The icing on the cake was, the name of our guide for this trip was, "Moses." So yes, we were guided through a sea of red, in a desert, by a guy named Moses. You just can't make this stuff up.
