I am a "conditional" hiker. I really only like hiking when there is the promise of great photographic reward for all my exercise. I had heard that the most popular hike in the Bend area was just that... a great photographic experience. It was that, as well as an opportunity to get eaten alive by mosquitos, but it was totally worth it. For those of you who may wind up in Bend.. the name of this hike is the Green Lake Trail, about 30 miles from Bend on the Cascade Scenic Highway.
