This week I drove to the Oregon Cascades for a few days to see what that area was all about. If you are an outdoorsy person, you MUST come here. Not only is it gorgeous, but there is so much to do there amongst all that gorgeousness, it will knock your socks off. So here commences 4 posts of unabashed "plugging" for central OR.

I didn't realize until I was nearly on top of Mt. Hood (figuratively speaking, not literally) that my route to Bend, OR would take me so close to the "main" mountain of OR. There is skiing here (not now) and a great lodge that is a must stop. The view of and from the mountain is really spectacular.
